Title: The Light and Fallen
Author: Anna White
Publication Date: 3/27/2012
My Rating: ★★★★☆
Synopsis:
Lucian isn't sure what to expect when he steps over the banister separating Heaven from Earth. He opens his eyes in a new body, one with no wings, no knowledge of the future, and no special powers. All he remembers is his mission: to find a mysterious key. When he meets a human girl that he can't ignore he is forced, for the first time in eternity, to choose between duty and the pull of his heart. The future hangs on his decision, but he's fallen into a world where nothing is just what it seems.
Angels, Fallen Angels, and true love. What more do you have to say?! This was a fantastic book! It was very fast paced and hard to put down.
I loved Samara. She seems so innocent and doesn't realize how important she really is. She's made out to be like any other teenage girl despite the fact that her father has disappeared off the face of the Earth. That was one aspect I wish would've been brought to light, how or why her father disappeared, but maybe that's for a later book?
The romance between Lucian and Samara was lovely. It made me yearn to be her, and at times, I really felt like I was her. Feeling the anxious, giddy feeling that being around Lucian brought up inside her. And Jack? Well, I pretty much hated him from the moment he entered into the story. Self absorbed, player types do not appeal to me. I was so excited and cheering Samara on for denying him like she did!
When the book hit its climax, it was swift but very dramatic! And the way the fights were described, made my adrenaline spike just reading it! I have to admit, I started figuring things out fairly quickly, but I didn't think the book would end in the way it had! I absolutely love that it wasn't at all what I expected at the end. (It's no fun when you know exactly how everything will happen :))
All in all, I am definitely looking forward to the future books in this series. I love stories about fallen Angels and anything having to do with them so I was excited to read this. If you like the "Hush, Hush" series by Becca Fitzpatrick, you will love this book!
Thanks for taking the time to read and review my book! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteSo I've been leery of the angel stories lately. Not the best experiences with them. But this one may need to be an exception.
